Deleting a CRG

I uploaded a couple of test galleries which worked fine. However when I wanted to delete them from Lightroom Publish service it said I couldn't delete from the service but could delete the collection. So I did that and then went onto my C panel and deleted the files. Now I'm left with icons still. How do I remove that ? and going forward how do I properly delete a CRG gallery ?

Thanks

Re: Deleting a CRG

You never should have to delete galleries using the c-panel. Backlight is database driven and galleries need either be deleted from Lightroom or from Backlight > Publisher > Galleries > Albums. Click on the album name in question and then select Delete Album.

Re: Deleting a CRG

Hi, I tried that first but I had a message that said it couldn’t delete from the server.

That's strange.

In this case I would send your Backlight login along with a link to this thread to Ben so he can have a look at it.

Re: Deleting a CRG

There isn't anything for me to find by looking into this.  If something like that happens, just go in and remove the album in the Backlight Admin login.

Ben, he mentioned that he tried this but got an error:

Re: Deleting a CRG

Not quite, I tried deleting the CRG album from within Lightroom and that gave me the message couldn't delete from server. I have now just tried deleting the CRG album from within the backlight admin, and that has removed the icon that was left after deleting the images that were in it from my C panel. I suppose the question remains why I couldn't delete the album within Lightroom ? I'll try again with another test album later.

It just happens from time to time.

Re: Deleting a CRG

So mystery solved,  When I first published the images to the CRG I was using a test site. Then later changed the URL to the main site, and moved all the files in my C panel. So although I had changed the URL Publisher for the normal galleries I hadn't changed the URL in the CRG Publisher, and thus it couldn't find the files any more to delete them. User error!!
