4K monitor issue

When I view my slideshows on my 4K monitor the image size as displayed is larger than the actual resolution of the image.  A 2000 pixel wide image will display at something like 3000 pixels pixels wide.  To see the images at correct size I have to scale down the window size.  On a 1920 x 1200 monitor they appear to display at correct size. What am I doing wrong?

Re: 4K monitor issue

Sounds like you might need to treat your monitor like a Retina display and publish your images at twice as big as normally necessary.

You'll notice in the page templates an option to include hi-res masthead graphics. That's meant for Retina and other hi-resolution displays.
There's also an option in the album templates to create thumbnails for retina displays, be sure to use that (Backlight 2 only).
But there is no option to have publisher create a retina/hi-res version of the large size images. Perhaps that will be something Matt and Ben will address in the future.

For now, if you want to see your images appear as you want them at the full resolution of your monitor, I think you're going to have to publish them twice as large as you are now (the limit in the album template is 2048px)

that's my take on your problem anyway.

Re: 4K monitor issue

Thank Rod

Looks like a Windows 10 problem.  On my monitor It defaults to displaying everything at 150%.  I can set it to display at 100% and my Backlight images view at proper size, but then can't read the text on many apps. sad

Re: 4K monitor issue

Maybe someone else who has a hi-res monitor will weigh in

Re: 4K monitor issue

Think I've got it resolved.  All the browsers have a sticky zoom setting.  By setting browser zoom at 75-80% I can get very close to correct display size while using the Windows 10 150% zoom feature.

Re: 4K monitor issue

That's super weird. There's got to be a better solution than that. I'm on a Mac, but I don't have any such issues with my external display. Have you looked into your resolution settings?
