Can't Change BL2 footer data & strange Firefox behavior

(1) Tried changing footer year several times (even after clearing template cache) but changes won't take.

(2) Using Firefox browser and selecting a menu to go to, the main menu remains open (doesn't automatically close) and you have to manually close it to get to selected item.  This behavior is not present in windows 10 Internet explorer, Edge or Android Samsung, Chrome, Dolphin browsers.  BTW, I've updated to Windows 10 17763/1809, Firefox took and update and I took several BL2 updates all in Dec 2018.

1) the footer year in your test site is 2018, what is it supposed to be?

2) Are you using a touch enabled screen too?

Re: Can't Change BL2 footer data & strange Firefox behavior

About the menu, is this for the menu on your test site or Backlight back-end?
I'm using Firefox and have no problem with the menu on your test site.

I do have issues with the Backlight menus on my touch screen enabled laptop. I usually use Firefox and haven't checked that issue in Chrome on my laptop yet.

Re: Can't Change BL2 footer data & strange Firefox behavior

The copyright date entered in the footer is the start date. If you entered 2016, for example, it should currently show 2016-2018 (as of today, Dec. 31)
Tomorrow it will change to 2016-2019

if you enter 2018 as the start date, it will just show 2018. My guess is that the start date year has to be the current year or earlier, otherwise it defaults to the current year.
Wait until tomorrow, I bet it turns to 2019.

Re: Can't Change BL2 footer data & strange Firefox behavior

Thanks Rod, It did exactly that -- "2018 - 2019" (good to know!)

Any other thoughts on this?  When I first start Firefox it's OK but reverts back to the original problem as I keep browsing in website

Re: Can't Change BL2 footer data & strange Firefox behavior

I can't duplicate the menu problem so really can't say. Maybe Matt or Ben have some ideas.

Firefox has caused other problems in the past (z-index on menus and such) so it might be fixable. But Matt would need to see what's happening before he can do anything.

BTW, I like some of the features you've included in your site. The scrolling news feed, the search form. Very cool.

Re: Can't Change BL2 footer data & strange Firefox behavior

Thanks very much for the compliments Rod!
I will continue to poke around.  It looks like it's only occurring for me.  As I mentioned earlier, I took a lot of system, firefox and ttg upgrades. This problem only occurs on my desktop firefox but not mobile.  I use Samsung mobile galaxy note8 browser.

Rod, it looks like the latest round of Backlight2 updates fixed my problems!
