.htaccess

I am running CE4 on my website undet the "public_html" folder.  I have installed backlight and galleries in this same folder.  I will be creating a new folder for my backlight instance under public_html as well.

My question is, there is an .htaccess file in the public_html folder.  If I copy the backlight .htaccess file, it will overwrite the existing one and may impact my CE4 website.  I believe that I made some changes to the .htaccess file some time ago.

Please advise on how to proceed...

Thanks,
-Herschel
