I'm Stuck

To be to the point.

I created a sub domain called temp

I' uploaded the files the temp directory via ftp = ok

I logged in at http://www.pretty-flash-photography.co. … /backlight and set up my credentials = ok

however when I visit  http://www.pretty-flash-photography.co.uk/temp/  it says  No input file specified.

I've had a play with some of the setting but I'm getting nowhere.

All help appreciated

Re: I'm Stuck

This is probably the Fast CGI issue. Go to Settings > Advanced Settings and Edit Settings. Scroll to the bottom where you'll see the .htaccess area. The first part of that speaks to the problem and shows how to remedy it.

It looks like this:

############################################################################
    # Edit this section for servers using FastCGI

    # For FastCGI (or seeing the error message 'No input file specified.':
    # add # to the start of the next line
    RewriteBase /

Also be sure to click on the informational icon just above, which instructs you to update album files

Re: I'm Stuck

Hi Rod,

You were right smile although when I tried to make the changes in the back-light setting area it made no difference, So I edited the
.htaccess file via ftp and that seems to solved the problem.

Many thanks for your help

Re: I'm Stuck

Was the .htaccess file writeable? If not, that would probably explain why making the change in admin didn't work.

Re: I'm Stuck

After you edited the .htaccess file in the Backlight Settings, did you also update the album files

Re: I'm Stuck

Hi Matt,

I've never had much to to with the .htaccess file or file permissions so they could be set wrong?

Rod, I did update the publisher but if the above setting are wrong I suppose that would explain why it never worked

Re: I'm Stuck

It looks to me that the .htaccess file in the root of the site isn't getting written to. The .htaccess file in album sets and albums is getting written to.
All my .htaccess file permissions are set a 644 and only the album and album set .htaccess files are being affected by changes in the Backlight Settings.

something for Ben and Matt to ponder smile

We have a support document on .htaccess files, with a focus on editing them for FastCGI support:
