Re: WP Engine won't support SQLite or PDO

Perhaps we should add a caveat there: general web host.  WordPress Engine hosts WordPress sites in a trusted environment.  As such I wouldn't imagine they'd be interested in providing modules that aren't necessary for WordPress.
After some Googling, it looks like there is some semblance of SQLite support, with references here: http://burnsstatstg.wpengine.com/r-database-interfaces/

Have you asked their support whether the PDO Sqlite module can be enabled?
