Topic: IE 10 on Microsoft Surface Pro Desktop shows mobile version of site

(and IE 11 too on another Surface running the Windows 8.1 Preview) must be sending a browser string that TTG thinks is mobile. What is strange is that the Metro/Start Screen version of IE does not have this issue. I do not see this behavior on my Windows 8 non surface tower, nor on Windows 7 with IE 10.

This seems specific to the Surface which is a multi touch tablet.

Re: IE 10 on Microsoft Surface Pro Desktop shows mobile version of site

What are the screen's pixel dimensions?

If using multi-level navigation, the navigation will collapse to the mobile version when the browser window is 1024px or smaller.

For the screen shot you posted, if you maximize the browser do you get the desktop view?

Re: IE 10 on Microsoft Surface Pro Desktop shows mobile version of site

Ha! Pixel screen resolution is indeed the reason. The Surface Pro is 1920x1080. Maximized browser shows full non collapsed menus and if I extend the size of the windowed browser in the screen shot, I see full menus/content. Who woulda thunk?

Thanks...
