#2 Backlight 2 Support » Migration from localhost » 2019-02-26 21:17:32

Hey Y'all!

Apologies in advance for what could be a stupid question, but...

I get the advantages of developing on localhost and then publishing the finished product onto my web host, but I'm still a little shaky about the process of actually migrating my little polished jewel of a website from the localhost to my web server.

Do I just copy everything from my local directory to the web server, and then possibly change a reference in the admin section of BL2 to convert all of the references, or is there some other process? It couldn't be so simple that my FTP client handles it, could it?

Thanks in advance,
Garrett

Thanks, Rod. I'll look into it later down the road. I'll let you know if I come up with something.

Hi All,

I'm finally redoing my website with Backlight, and I've got to say that so far I'm thrilled with the functionality and the ease of use. But I can't find a way to get the filter and submit buttons to show in the CRG status bar, I only get a square with the number of selects, and when I click it then I get the submit button. Visually, I kind of like it this way, but I definitely have clients who will be hindered by the extra step ;-)

Is there a setting somewhere I'm missing?

Thanks,
Garrett

#5 Re: Backlight Support » Controlling Image Height in Flickety Slider » 2016-09-21 03:59:55

Ok. Maybe in the future? I really like the look of flickety...

#6 Re: Backlight Support » Controlling Image Height in Flickety Slider » 2016-09-19 21:57:06

Thanks, all!

The challenge is that I have images in a gallery that vary wildly in aspect ratio, from 4:3 to 3:2 to 4:1. If I set an appropriate height and aspect ratio for the 4:1 image, then my more conventional aspect ratio images are way to small, I'm happy to let my extremely wide images be short rather than very wide. I could, of course, edit the content of my gallery to play nice with the carousel, but I'd much prefer to get the carousel to bend to my content smile I did briefly scan the flickety website and found a behavior called adaptiveHeight that changes the height of the carousel to match the height of the slide, but I'm not sure what the most effective way to implement it is within the framework of Backlight.

Thanks Again!
Garrett

Hello,

I just upgraded to Backlight + Pages with the Theater add-on, and so far, I'm very pleased. I have been experimenting with the Flickety Slider presentation, and it is scaling my images vertically to fill the slide area. I have my large image output size set to 1280x960, and the aspect ratio of the Flickety cell set to 4:3. When a 960px high image is displayed (square or portrait) the image aspect ratio is maintained with no horizontal scaling to fill the cell. When a 1280px wide image is displayed that is shorter than 960px, the image gets scaled vertically to fill the viewport cell, which is not good for panoramas. I messed about with different height parameters in Safari's Inspect Element pane, and while I could eventually get the height correct, the image would then be top aligned in the cell, rather than centered vertically.

Is there a way (custom css, etc.) to get the cell to respect the image height and also vertically center the image?

Thanks,
Garrett

#8 CE4 Client Response Gallery » Album Sort Order » 2015-06-02 00:18:59

Hi All!

Is there a way to reverse the sort order of albums assigned to clients in the CRG Admin area? I prefix my album names with the date formatted YYYY-MM-DD so that they are listed in chronological order, but I would love to have them sort so that the newest album is at the top, rather than the bottom.

Thanks,
Garrett

P.S. Apologies in advance if I've duplicated this post. I thought I submitted it last night, but can't find it anywhere wink

#9 Re: CE4 Publisher » Publisher is not creating index.php » 2015-03-19 03:48:57

Fixed.

I deleted the ttg-be folder and re-installed from scratch and now everything seems to be working as expected. Hurray!

I think you're right about the albums being managed by crg, and not the sets. I'm being sloppy. I think it's that the album set auto-index is being bypassed by crg login.

That link is an artifact from a while back when I was experimenting with something else. I haven't actually seen that auto-index in a while, so I'd forgotten about the link, I'll clean that out. Thanks!

But I suspect that you're right that there is something fundamentally wrong with the set up. Thanks for putting another set of eyes on it.

"Zed-live" is actually assigned an auto-index gallery. However, since it's being managed by CRG, it doesn't show as an auto-index. the path for the auto-index gallery is:

I'm using permissions of 755 on Bluehost.

For some reason, I thought that I was able to see the "crg-default" gallery template in the drop down in addition to my ""wcp-crg-comparative-selectable" and "wcp-crg-delivery-slideshow" galleries in a previous publisher instance I'd set up, but now that I look at it, I don't see it there either. I must have been wrong about that. I CAN see my custom templates in the drop down menu.

#13 Re: CE4 Publisher » Publisher is not creating index.php » 2015-03-18 07:36:39

Nope, I deleted it immediately before making any albums. I have tried deleting albums that were not behaving as expected and making new ones, but I'm getting the same result.

The gallery template was exported from the web module, the link is:
http://www.craft-photo.com/ttg-be/templ … electable/

The link to the site homepage is:
http://www.craft-photo.com/index.php
From there click "Client Login" and use credentials

Hi All,

I've just set up a publisher instance for a client area on one of my web sites. For some (probably obvious) reason, when I publish the album, all I'm getting are the autoindex.xml and gallery.xml files, along with the photos and thumbnails. I am not getting index.php, mobile.php or any of the other files I would expect from my gallery templates. I did upload gallery templates to the ttg-be/templates/gallery folder.

And, now that I look in the album settings in Lightroom, I don't see the gallery defaults listed as options. I've obviously missed something in the setup.

Any help is appreciated.

#16 Re: CE4 Client Response Gallery » Highslide Comparative doesn't work with Feedback Panel? » 2015-02-14 13:08:13

Thanks again for the response!

I do think the thumbnail is helpful, but I wonder if it might be useful to do a big image in the feedback pane in the same sort of way as the block or the contact page from the CE4 Pages module (image on one side, text or fields on the other.) In that scenario the client would have a completely uncluttered view of the image with an area to the side in which to comment, rather than the comment pane (mostly, but incompletely) obstructing the view of the image.

This may have morphed into a feature request...

Thanks All!

Thanks for the reply, Rod!

Is there anyway (CSS, PHP, etc.) to get the feedback pane to be someplace other that directly over the image? Then at least the client could see the image while filling in the feedback pane. FWIW, it may just be coincidence, but the appearance of the page "behind" the pane changed when I changed the settings in the Magnific settings (I'd switched large image presentation style to see if there might be latent settings...)

Hello Everyone!

I've created a Client Response Gallery with Highslide Comparative and enabled feedback. When I click the feedback icon, the feedback box pops up centered over what appears to be the Magnific presentation. In CRG CE3, it was possible to have the HS Comparative large image up while having the feedback window up as well, and you could move the feedback pane around as well. Am I missing a control somewhere?

Thanks,
Garrett

Thanks for the response, at least I'm not missing something obvious.

It's a feature I'd be very, very interested in!

Hi All,

I am in process of migrating to CE4, and I really like being able to use the combination of CRG, Publisher, and TTG-BE to direct clients to a login screen, and then have the login credentials used to redirect client to a list of their albums. However, is it possible for that redirect to lead to an Auto Index of their albums, rather than a text list?

Many thanks,
Garrett
