#1 Re: General » CE3 purchases » 2013-03-22 19:18:12

Matthew,

Adding another 'generalised' query to this topic...

It appears that the TTG shop doesn't handle multiple discount codes.  For example, if I have discount codes for Pages, Autoindex and Gallery and want to upgrade them all in one transaction, it seems that the shop will allow me to add all three to my cart but only apply a single discount code.

So - is there a way around this (as I obviously don't want to have multiple international tranactions on the credit card and would prefer all of them to appear, and be charged, as a single transaction).

Thoughts please?

It's not to just stop your site from being 'searched', it's also to prevent these crawlers from using massive amounts of bandwidth which they can, and often, do!

Matthew - apologie for posting this here - wasn't sure where to and couldn't find an answer to it.

Given that Cart won;t be available for a while, for those of us that *need* the cart integration, it means that moving to CE3 can't/won't happen yet.

Given this scenario, how long are your 'loyalty' discounts going to apply for? Or are you expecting/hoping us to upgrade now and wait for Cart?

I run a number of different domains - one of which is a genelaogy site - I use exclusions in robots.txt files and, so far, (touch wood here!) none of this site can be found using any of the search engines I have used or experimented with.

Whilt it is true I see some activity from search engines, it is usually only in the order of around 30-100k of data a month from each one (as a comparison, one other ite I don't restrict, currently shows Google accessing around 10Mb of data a month - it all starts to build up).

Other sites to consider not allowing are archive.org, sitedossier.com amongst others - thee ite archive (without permission) your site and it becomes increasingly frustrating when people find older versions of your site when you don't want them found!
