#1 Backlight 3 Support » New Paypal payment options » 2020-06-13 00:44:21

Hi all,

I have implemented the new PayPal smart button on my payment page here https://www.tsiphotography.co.uk/Payments/

I much prefer the option for a customer to pay with a credit\debit card,  I know they can via the normal PayPal button but it confuses a lot of people,  any plans to add a Credit card payment option with the cart?

Daniel you are star,  all pages now display the padlock apart from the "Galleries" folders?

Did you change your site URL to start with https:// in the backlight admin section?

Hi all,

I've just purchased and installed an SSL certificate from my hosting company,  I'm seeing the "padlock and "https" displayed and any of the pages without images,  from what i read the pages with images will not display the padlock icon any way around that?

I'm not sure if this is intended or not?

I have a hero template, when publishing an album from within Lightroom you can only select your cover image once the gallery has been uploaded which seems odd that you can not select which image to use from the filmstrip?

So it ends up being a bit of a 2 stage process, upload the gallery then you have to go back in and edit the gallery to select your cover image and then republish..

Everytime I login to BK3 as admin it constantly says "You're almost there. Update the settings below to complete your setup."  so I have to save the settings everytime I login,  although it says "The settings were not changed".

I have put a workaround for this.  Either approach to upgrading should work now.

Hi Ben yes that worked :-)

I'm an avid user of the CRG (well my customers are), I primarily use if for brides to submit their images for their photo album.  I also allow\enable the download of images,   so would it be possible too get the CRG to enable people to select a series of images (as they do anyway in CRG) and then have a download option,  so instead of them having to download a single image they can select a few and then download as a batch?

So just to explain,  after a wedding i create a gallery which the couple will share with friends and family, I also include a lowres file for them to save\share on social media etc, so the question that always gets asked is "can I not download more than 1 picture at once" ?
As we already have the option to select multiple images could we not have a "download option" in addition to the "submit" button?

Trying to create and upload a new gallery via LR i'm receiving this error " Can't rename published collection, error performing function (code 418),  I then look on the website and it's created 10 empty galleries each time I try and publish?

#16 Re: Backlight 3 Support » Upgrade BK1 -BK3 » 2020-05-06 08:22:17

Hi Ben,

OK I see that has locked the galleries, If we are having to work with an access code now where is the option to enter the admin access code?  So we don't have to try and remember all the different access codes for all the galleries?

#17 Re: Backlight 3 Support » Upgrade BK1 -BK3 » 2020-05-06 00:04:42

Hi Rod,

I think the only option i have is too revert back to BK1 for the moment,  I appreciate what you're saying regarding hidings the albums but that really isn't an option for me,  unless i'm missing something it seems crazy that such a basic upgrade for "username\passwords has been missed?

#18 Re: Backlight 3 Support » Upgrade BK1 -BK3 » 2020-05-05 23:24:53

I have hundreds of online galleries which are "Username" & "Password" which are now all open to everyone :-(

This is a major concern as I photograph a lot of children!!

#19 Re: Backlight 3 Support » Upgrade BK1 -BK3 » 2020-05-05 23:18:04

Hi Rod,

Yes i've downloaded the new LR plugin and see the new access code option,  but all the galleries that were created in BK1 are now unlocked, so how does BK3 deal with the upgrade for username and passwords previously created?

I've just upgraded from Backlight 1 too Backlight 3 all went amazingly well :-)  one slight issue is that all my galleries seem to have lost their password logins I.E now none of my galleries are password protected,  if I look in Lightroom the option for the password is now greyed out??

Is there a way to embed reviews left on facebook directly into a page without having to manually copy the embed code from the post?

#22 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Stripe Payments » 2019-11-28 19:45:06

I'm still using Backlight 1 but was considering updating to Backlight 2,  does that look like the "cart" will be dropped then?

#23 Re: Backlight Support » CRG login Screen » 2018-07-11 03:32:06

I've just had another bash at trying to customise the CR login screen,  without success.

I now have a Page Template called CR_Login and changed the Client Response > Settings > Personalisation to point to this template, but no matter what I change in the CR_Login template nothing seems to change?

I must be missing something or it's a bug?

#24 Re: Backlight Support » A more obvious way for clients to submit their selections? » 2018-07-08 14:42:34

peter wrote:

It's pretty intuitive to me, but a lot of our clients are not sending us their picks from a client select gallery.

We sometimes get a separate email from them telling us they've made their selections but I have to log in to Backlight and check the Feedbacks manually.

And sometimes we contact them after not hearing back from them. We know they have made choices by logging on as them and seeing their 'hearts' or (occasionally checking the Feedback), and when we do ask them if they have made their choices, they usually reply with 'Yes, did you not get them?'

Any way to make this even more obvious that they have to 'Submit' them??

Peter

I often have the same issues,  would it be possible to add a popup note if they try and exit the gallery saying something like "you have selections that have not yet been submitted?

CRG star rating,

So i have a customer who has selected a number of images and submitted their feedback.

I copy and paste their selections in to LR and then star rate them all as 5,  I then go ahead and filter in LR and make the necessary changes.  So my question is with the CRG gallery are they able to filter based on the start rating, as she now wants to see the other images?
