#1 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Fancybox navigation arrow appearance » 2019-01-23 04:37:19

Rod,

For my own knowledge (and possible use) - where or how do you use this CSS so it is enabled when the user device is a phone or tablet but not when the user device is a computer?

Thanks.

I would like to minimize the visual appearance of the navigation arrows on the fancybox slideshow. At the moment I am trying to eliminate the box around the arrows. The settings for the UI background color for the slideshow do not seem to have any effect on the boxes around the arrows. Is there a way to make the boxes around the arrows transparent?

Thanks.

Thank you so much for the help and great eyes. I had to get out the reading spectacles just to see where I goofed.  smile

Rod,

Thanks but the "clear" property does not seem to be doing it's magic. Here is a link to the site if you have enough patience and would like to take a look. My goal is to have the contact form on the "about" page fall underneath the picture regardless of the browser width.

Rod,

Works like a charm. Is there a way to have one portion of text wrap around the photo but a second section of text appear below the photo regardless of the width of the browser?

Thanks.

As always much thanks Rod. I will give it a go shortly.

I want to create an About page that has text which wraps around a photo which is positioned against the left or right margin. What is the best way to achieve this in Backlight 2 and maintain the responsive qualities of the interface? What if I wanted 2 photos, one against the left margin and the other lower against the right margin?

Thanks and sorry if this question has been asked before.

Matthew,

Thanks for the response. Clearing the cache took care of it. Sorry to bother you with this and thanks for the great product.

Rod,

Thanks for the !important recommendation. That solves my issue on Firefox and Safari, but does not seem to work on Chrome. I'm on the very latest version of Backlight 2 if that makes a difference.

Looking through the forum I notice that you have provided a lot of great help. Thank you again!

#11 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Removing Thumbnails Button from Slideshow Photo Presentation » 2018-10-21 00:00:11

Rod,

This works on the other buttons in the toolbar but not on the thumbnails button which is declared like this

<button data-fancybox-thumbs="" class="fancybox-button fancybox-button--thumbs" title="Thumbnails (G)" style="display: inline-block;"></button>

Because the display: inline-block is declared within the element I don't see a way to override it. I think this may be a coding oversight as the inline-block is not declared in the element for the other buttons.

I am trying to hide the thumbnails button in the toolbar at the top of the default slideshow presentation. If I look at the fullscreen button in the toolbar the code that declares the display as an inline block is associated with the fancybox-button so I can override its display with custom css. The thumbnails button declares the display as an inline block directly in the class definition so is there still a way to override this?

Is this a coding oversight as it is also declared as an inline block through the fancybox-button definition?

Thanks

#13 Backlight Support » Using both Logo and Navigation in Header » 2018-10-19 02:45:45

I am trying to figure out how to have both my logo and navigation at the same horizontal level in the header in desktop view. If I choose to set the top pallet title on and the navigation in the top pallet I'm almost there but this produces a text version of my logo and I want to use an image logo. Is there a way to do this? Also, can additional custom (non google) fonts be added to Backlight?

Thanks.

#14 Re: Backlight Support » Backlight version numbers and skipping upgrade » 2018-02-03 05:53:30

Thanks Rod. I had this same question. Is there a way to tell the version number for the Theater, Wordpress, and Galleria add-ons?

Is there a way to use Backlight's publisher and hidden albums to manage the images that are used in Backlight's wordpress theme posts?

Thanks Rod. That was the problem. I used an auto installer to setup WordPress and didn't check closely what it had done. I really appreciate the help.

I have just started with the Wordpress theme in Backlight. When I click through the menu items on my site (Home, Galleries, Travels, About, Journal) and back all works fine. However, when I click on Journal (Wordpress) and select the sample post to look at (go into the post), when I return to any of the other pages on my site the formatting is broken. Refreshing the pages does not seem to help.

You can try it out on http://terriandcharles.com

Any thoughts for this newbie would be welcome. Thanks.

#18 Re: Backlight Support » Backlight 1.2 Justified Layout Aspect Ratio Problems » 2017-07-03 01:27:39

I thought that I had correctly republished but apparently not as when I deleted the album and started again from scratch things worked correctly. Thank you for the response and for Backlight.

Attached are two images of the same gallery webpage created with Backlight 1.2. All templates are at their default settings with the gallery style for the thumbnail grid of the album set to classic in one case and justified for the other. Notice that the aspect ratio of the thumbnails for the justified style are skewed. My attempts to change settings to improve this situation all seem to make it much worse. I expect that I am missing something obvious but does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

#20 Re: Backlight Support » Photo Order with Masonry Layout » 2017-05-05 08:43:14

Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions. Mentioning the "Justified" option brings up more questions but I will hold off (and let you work on it). Much appreciation for the great product.

#21 Re: Backlight Support » Photo Order with Masonry Layout » 2017-05-05 03:44:06

Is there a way to use the classic grid layout and squeeze the photos together so that there are no spaces between them (achieve the look of the masonry layout)?

I am having trouble controlling the order of photo presentation with the masonry layout. The photos have different aspect ratios and it seems that Backlight re-orders them for a clean presentation. However I would like to control the order in which they are placed. Is there a way to do this?
