I have an error across the frontend of my backlight2 and admin area as well. I am completely unable to do anything. Its all garbled.

Does anyone know how to resolve this or have come across this before?

I don't think my server engineer is having much luck either!!

Admin looks the same as well.

One guess is that you're posting in the Backlight forum rather than the Backlight 2 forum wink

The other clue is that by looking at the page source code I see the style sheets are coming from "okapi-core", which is part of Backlight 1 (I think it is still be used in Backlight 2, but since your were posting in the Backlight forum, I made an assumption)

And the one that nailed it is when I tried accessing your Backlight login page to see where you had Backlight installed. It's using the Backlight 1 login screen.

Sorry Rod, slight confusion perhaps on my part, I thought you were talking about version numbers!!

See post above, its all resolved now due to just updating backlight to the latest version, ..... its explained above! smile

Ok.... I have now updated to the latest version......

All seems to be working now, and thank you ROD, for helping me in giving guidance. I am still confused as to why the site wasnt updated to the latest version, but perhaps some files were lost when my hosting provider had a poke around.

Really appreciate your help in solving this. Thank you again. smile

How do you know I am still on backlight 1?

I am certain I have updated several times since this release, so how can you tell I am on backlight 1?

Only reason I am asking is that perhaps my hosting provider has inadvertently done something that I am not aware of, if this is the case, then I need to get on their backs and start asking questions!! sad

By the way, heres another thought as to why I havent received any emails..... my backlight is most likely up to date!!

I did email BEN with the login details as you suggested Rod, in the hope that he could take a look and see whats going on.
I'm pretty sure my backlight is up to date.........

Hopefully you guys can help with this.

I have downloaded the 3 files that I have purchased, but what I dont want to do is completely reinstall the whole site.

If you can give me a list of files from each module (theatre, cart and backlight+pages) to allow me to update for me to then move across via FTP, that would be very useful.

Sorry to keep asking, but I really do not want to reinstall the whole thing sad

Thanks Rod, I just found that page and I have redownloaded the files, but what I actually need are the latest updates to these.

I have theatres, backlight, and cart modules.... Is there any way of finding these updated files on the website somewhere? I have looked and cant find them. I know emails were sent with links to updates in the past, but its clear I have missed the latest updates. I know my email address is working, but not sure why I was missed off the list and is there anyway I can be resent the emails with the latest updates please?

Thanks Ben, but I didnt receive an email to let me know there was an update. Not sure how I go about getting the update files on the site?

Rod, thank you.

I have emailed Ben with some admin details, even though I cant access the admin, he may well know a different way!!

If possible, could you let him know that he should expect an email from an email address with in it so it doesnt go amiss.

Would be great to get this resolved as soon as possible, otherwise Backlight is going to have to be deleted and I will have to find another solution if possible, dont really want to do that, as its such a great system smile

So today when I got home from work and checked my website, it wasnt working it was just saying ERROR in the top left of the page, nothing else.

I contacted my server team, and they have looked into it and resolved the problem with the website by this:

"We have enabled the PHP-FPM for your domain "

This worked, however,...... looking deeper into my website, i have noticed that backlight no longer works, and I am unable to login to the admin side of backlight to take a look at resolving it.

When clicking on "Download prints" it throws up this error:
count(): Parameter must be an array or an object that implements Countable in SimpleHTMLTag.php on line 44

Can anyone help me with this as I am stumped on what to do now. sad

I bought this last night and reading the instructions to install as per the notepad text file, it was showing how to install Publisher?!

I looked at the struture of the folder, and looks fairly simple....upload via FTP to the following location.... backlight/modules/

Done that..... but where is it within the admin side of Backlight? I see no reference to it anywhere.

Please..... can some kind soul let me in on the secret?

I know how to use discount codes. My problem is and frustration,  you can't apply a code to a particular album, its across the board of all your photos.

Also.....if you have 2 discount codes, they can both be used to reduce the cost of a photo twice.... this is wrong and is a risk.

I am hoping that Backlight 2 is going to be different and more capability. As it is, I am very reluctant to purchase a new version when my current version kinda works after so long of trying to work out how things work.
As per my post on a different thread, I am hoping that Backlight 2 has a discount for us members that already purchased Backlight 1.

I have one more question Rod.....

Can I attach a photo of the frame next to the size in the drop down box, if so, how? I thought I saw an option for that, but now I can't seem to find where I saw it....perhaps my eyes are deceiving me!!!!

I will have a go at what you suggested, I have tried that but for some reason I don't think (if i can remember, that it actually worked correctly)

I have read the documentation but its a bit lacking for me.

I currently have digital downloads and got my knickers in a twist when I wanted to also offer a framed print as well as the option to download, either or, not both onto a product.

In simple terms, is there another piece of documentation that I can follow in plain english to enable me to do this.
Or can someone help me out by providing a kind of step by step guide.

I would really appreciate anyones help.

Is there going to be an option to keep your existing customers happy by providing discounts to those that have previously purchased Backlight 1 and associated add-ons?
It feels to me that I will have to pay a 2nd time for a newer version? Perhaps I am reading this all wrong, but it niggles a bit.

Also..... in Backlight 2 will there now be an ability to attach voucher codes to individual albums? This is one of my biggest "wants" and I am sure others feel the same way.

I am not sure if this has been asked before because suprisingly the search function returned nothing.

Voucher codes. I have created various voucher codes, but to my dismay it looks like you can apply these codes all to one product. Reducing costs much further than the intention.

How do you assign a voucher code to JUST ONE ALBUM?? Is this even possible? If not, why not??

Can someone help me out here??

This is my albums in Lightroom:

For each album, I want to provide a digital download and have each album set to a different price.

I have done this for 2 albums, but when I try to replicate what I have done, it simply comes up with an error on my website telling me no products are available to purchase - Please try again later, or contact the photographer if this problem persists.

Which is not correct, as the files are uploaded etc etc.....

I seem to be having difficulty understanding in backlight administration, the following..... packages, products and pricing schemes.

I know, its fairly easy to understand, but how the hell am I getting this so wrong that it comes up with the error above?? I am editing the album to reflect the Integration that matches my pricing scheme in backlight administration. What on earth am i doing wrong or missing????

I have spent the last 4 hours mucking around with changing so may options just in those 3 areas that either i am confusing myself, or backlight seems to be confused.

This is so frustrating!!!! Please help smile

I am really struggling to assign a different price to an album in Lightroom via backlight.

I have about 9 different categories, 8 of these have the same price for all downloads in each one, but the 9th category I am trying to assign as a different price, and no matter what i do, i just cant seem to do it. Its crazy, or perhaps thats just me??

I have managed to create a drop down box now for all images and categories when someone adds the image to their cart and can choose a different price, but thats not the way I want to do it. I want, if possible, to assign a price to different categories.

I feel like i am going round and round in circles and at the point of giving up now.

Please advise someone...... I love backlight, but it can be a bit frustrating at times! smile

So if I save my catalog, I can reopen this saved catalog and all the images and settings will be available?

Thats what I was hoping but am sure i tried this a few years ago and it didnt work, and worried that this wont work now for some reason.

Ideally, I want a catalog that I can use soley to add new images to it, publish to my site and thats it.
Another catalog that I can use purely for my modelling photographs

Is this possible?
