#1 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Capture One » 2020-05-07 06:49:14

Hi mjenuch,

If it helps, I use Photo Mechanic to sort through, crop and export photos ready for backlight.  Handling the meta-data for search is brilliant.

#3 Re: Backlight 3 Customization » Hero Image - Inseert on page? » 2020-05-04 15:59:55

Hi Matt,

No worries at all.

Maybe for future releases/consideration then... someway to show "some of the album images" so that if you have an alblum with hundreds of images in it,  there is someway you can control how many images are being displayed on your homepage - not all of them through the embed feature.

Cheers,
Chumby

Thanks Rod - I would of run a test but don't have BL3 yet. sad

Matt - why not a good idea to embed the hero image?  Perhaps make it an option?

Chumby

Hi Matt,

Just starting to look at BL3.  Well done in getting it out.

With the Hero Image feature, does this carry over when you "Insert an album" onto page, or do just the images in the album themselves appear as per BL2?

That is genius work, Daniel!

Well done!

#7 Re: Backlight 2 Customization » Single Image Presentation View: Remove Right and Left Browse icons » 2020-04-19 06:46:55

Thanks very much, Rod.

Yes I missed the extra " in the figcaption tag which was messing up the formatting changes.  I re added this CSS (as my code wasn't making any difference) and formatting now displaying as it should!

As per the Pay Now button I added in the missing " in into the inline css code as per below:

<div style ="text-align:center;">
    <button .....> Buy this Photo</button>
    </div>

and the Pay Button is now centered and using the correct CSS formatting!

Thank you very much Rod (and Daniel) for taking the time to help me sort out this single-image view page.  Now working exactly as I need.

Cheers,
Chumby

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for the code - seem to have it working as I would like with no click through or navigation.  See link below.

https://www.tasmanianphotos.com/tasmani … single.php

Just need to work out how to format the caption (center and smaller text) presented by the figcaption tag.  Have been adding css to my custom css but havent been able to see any difference as yet.

Chumby

#9 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Single Image - Photo Size » 2020-04-18 12:20:56

Hi Rod,

Deleted the album, refreshed evything, then created a new album and reloaded in the pictures.

Change size if images seems to be working now for any new images that I hadn't clicked on.  Smaller images still appearing and must be in the cache somewhere.  I am sure they will clear out eventually.

Really appreciate your help on this one.

Cheers,
Chumby.

#10 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Single Image - Photo Size » 2020-04-18 10:26:43

Hi Rod,

Through the Publisher function in the admin section in recnt times ... but when I set up the site (thinking back) images could of been uploaded/deleted through ftp...

Although .... just thinking now... that would of just replacing non watermarked images with watermarked images.  All deleting was done via publisher.

Chumby

#12 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Single Image - Photo Size » 2020-04-18 08:11:35

Thanks Rod, yes I thought it just ment to re-upload the images in order to republish.

Yes - I have assigned the "Default Album" album template to the album.  I selected this in the "Template" dropdow (edit Alblum - Base Settings).  The only two options here are "Default Album" and "Search Album".  I can't assign "SearchResultsAlbum" anyway because it is not an option.

This has me confused - I am looking at the right album (as I only have one - with the slug images).

#13 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Single Image - Photo Size » 2020-04-18 07:44:13

Hi Rod,

Yes gone through this procedure.

The only options I see there are the current templates that I have.  ie.

- Default Album and Search Album.  No sign of SearchResultAlbum

I have deleted photos and uploaded photos with no change.

When you say replublish, do you mean delete the album totally, create a new album (even with same name) and then upload images again?

Cheers,
Chumby

#14 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Single Image - Photo Size » 2020-04-18 07:01:21

Ah - that is an old template name, Rod.  Doesn't exist anymore.  The two album templates I have are:

- Defaut Album
- Search Alblum

Whrere can I update this setting to reflect the new album templates?

Cheers,
Chumby

#15 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Single Image - Photo Size » 2020-04-18 06:24:28

Hi Rod,

The Album can be found at - https://www.tasmanianphotos.com/tasmania/stock/images/

I am uploading images 1200 * 900 and have the photo width and height set at 760.

The image size isn't changing no matter what values I put in here.

Does that help?

Cheers

#16 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Single Image - Photo Size » 2020-04-17 14:34:25

Hi Rod,

My album image for both the slideshow and single view image is now smaller than I like.  Can you just confirm where I make this image size change?

So ny process:

1) Make size changes at Image Renditions in Album Template(s) (default and search are my templates here)
2) Delete current photos in Album
3) Update album files through backlight2 settings
4) Republish photos (using backlight publisher).

Anything I am missing?  Have tried to clear caches, uses different browsers etc but still the same.

Cheers

OK, great thanks Daniel.

I will check out your code and see if I can get something working here.

Much appreciate your help as always.

Hi all,

I am trying to reduce the size of an image displayed in the single-image view.

I go to Album Template - Select the template I am using and then change the numbers in - Image Renditions - Photos, but the image presented on the screen doesn't appear to change.

I have single image pages selected also in - photo presentation.

Am I working with the right setting here to change the size of the image displayed in - single-image view?

Thank you,
Chumby.

Cheers Rod,

Appreciate your help as always.

I will have a look at the single_top function and see if I can make sense of modyfying it for this purpose.

Chumby

#21 Re: Backlight 2 Customization » Single Image Presentation View: Remove Right and Left Browse icons » 2020-04-17 08:15:00

Got it!  Thanks Rod.  Wish I understood CSS better sad

Now just to to stop the navigation click-through when someone clicks the image, or make it so that the click takes you through to the shopping cart.

In the php_plugins (function single_bottom) I have the below for the Pay Button.

    <div align="center">
    <button class="add-to-cart" data-item="'.$photo->getFilename().'" data-name="'.$photo->getMetadata(Photo::$PHOTO_TITLE).'" data-price="TasmanianPhotos Pricing Scheme Default" data-thumbnail="'.$photo->getThumbnailURL().'"> Buy this Photo</button>
    </div>

I wonder if this can be modified for the image?  At the moment I have Daniel's keyboard navigation script working on the picture.

Cheers,
Chumby

#22 Re: Backlight 2 Customization » Single Image Presentation View: Remove Right and Left Browse icons » 2020-04-17 07:01:33

Hi Dan,

Thanks for that.  Have updated my .css file and uploaded but not seeing any difference.  Not sure if I have caching issues but have tried in a different browser, cleared template cache and flushed everything on my cloudfare cache.  Have you been able to see the above code working?

Would be cool if someone clicked on the image to proceed to the shopping cart (in the same way the shopping cart item does).

Appreciate your help as always.

Chumby

#23 Re: Backlight 2 Customization » Single Image Presentation View: Remove Right and Left Browse icons » 2020-04-17 06:34:19

Yes Daniel, trying that out within a set of search results.

I have a slideshow view set up for normal browsing of an album, but seeing if by making single-view image in a search results set non navigatable, the user will stop broowsing and start purchasing!

I need to keep the "cross" in the left hand corner, so the user can go back to the search results, and also the shopping cart icon on the right so that they can purchase an image.

Does that make sense, Dan?

Cheers,
Chumby

#24 Re: Backlight 2 Customization » Single Image Presentation View: Remove Right and Left Browse icons » 2020-04-17 06:00:38

Thanks Rod,

But that didn't seem to work (unless I have some caching issues).

Any other ideas?

Hi there,

Is there a way to remove the left/right buttons which appear above the single-image presentation.

Something like the below perhaps?  I couldn't get this working however.

.fancybox-navigation .fancybox-button--arrow_right,
.fancybox-navigation .fancybox-button--arrow_left
{
    opacity: 1;
    visibility: hidden;
}

Example URL at:
