#1 Re: Backlight 3 Support » Bought BL3, nothing happen » 2020-05-02 03:40:32

yes.. no hold up on that end.   batch not settled for transaction.. emailed you directly the card's verification the transaction was approved.

#2 Re: Backlight 3 Support » Bought BL3, nothing happen » 2020-05-02 02:08:20

At this point payment is still pending.

not sure what the website was suppose to do to finish the sale.
normally when a submit button is pressed, payment processes as it was, and the order is done.

Clearly the payment is in a batch waiting to be closed.  Something I have no control over.

Seems like I have two options.
1: Purchase again, wait for pending charges to clear to dispute duplicates a few weeks later.
2: forget the upgrade as the web gods of the universe seem to be telling me it does not work.

#3 Re: Backlight 3 Support » Bought BL3, nothing happen » 2020-05-02 01:16:20

Yes.   Payment was still showing as pending this morning.   Order Page was goofy.  Processed order, credit card notified me of sale.  website/sales screen went back to beginning of order processing.  Yet order was already submitted.  really odd.

Also, I purchased the galleria add on.  when on the page with the various software purchases listed, there is no CART button to get  back to payment.  I just added another item, and the option to check out was provided.  deleted the 2nd item.  moved to payment.

Not the best flow for a website and purchasing. clearly buggy from my point of view.

bought the upgrade this morning.  card processed.   been waiting to see if the site's backlight module update area would show BL3 to update.  Still does not.  No email confirmation from TTG.  Only from my Credit Card for the purchase.

#5 Backlight 2 Support » Can viewers search Client Feedback, comments searchable? » 2019-06-28 02:14:21

I have thousands of articles my grandfather wrote.  Unfortunately before a digital age.  All nicely sorted only by Date, not topic.
The articles were scanned, poorly so any OCR just does not work on newspaper articles 40 years old.

I hope Client Response can help.

I want anyone (family..etc) to go to the site, read articles and make comments.  But the comments need to be searchable by anyone.

Can Client Feedback do this?

Anyone?

thanks Rod.

looked under all the rocks, but didn't follow that one past the list, and edit.  didn't think a delete option would show up.

I have an album that is showing up on the menu, but it no longer exists.

changed albums to smart albums.  in the process this

Tried adding an album in Lightroom, but can't set the slug to the missing album.  Lightroom thinks it still exists.

Album gallery does not exist on server.

Updated Album Files, Backlight Index Files, Cleared Tempalate cache...

How can I reset this mess?

Is there a way to duplicate the Lightroom's Publish Service for a site.  Would love to just edit a API/ location on the server to have a duplicate.

Got a bunch of text already added to various albums, sets, etc that I'd like to not have to re enter.  All posts I could find describe cloning the site, FTP/Dreamweaver. Then recreate all the gallery information manually.

#9 Re: Backlight Support » No Navigation » 2017-07-04 08:03:21

Thanks again..   put the cart before the horse again.  Updated files, re published all..  the started moving to  new pages...etc.      When in doubt, re-publish!

#10 Re: Backlight Support » No Navigation » 2017-07-01 03:12:59

Ok.. fell into that solution.  I'm an engineer, when all else fails... read the manual.

I am having problems getting the file meta data to display either in thumbnail or slideshow.

Banging around with colors to see what helps.

Classic seems to have space for the text, but can't see anything.
Slideshow does not seem to have any space for the text to be.

here is the one page I'm beating up to see what happens.

even added fixed text to the medadata token line to force text.

Long awaited update to hopefully fix No Navigation Option..
The mobile icon still shows, and but with the improved "Mobil Menu Error" message when the page is reduced
Isn't Mobil a gas station?

Any new ideas?

#12 Re: Backlight Support » Download Internal Error or misconfig.. » 2017-04-25 22:50:20

Thanks Ben.  Works great.
Suspected the download.php was confused.  Didn't know any more than that.

Not many people will agree with you that it was not my fault, but thanks for the encouragement.

#13 Re: Backlight Support » Download Internal Error or misconfig.. » 2017-04-25 02:05:25

Thanks Ben for offering to peak at the site.
Sent email with notes to you.

Reinstalled software, Uploaded Fresh backlight files per update read me, Re Published, Re Checked.   Still everything works till the actual Download image is attempted.

Can't find a demo site here that has enabled downloads either.  Must be buggy code because I'd never do anything un orthodox.  yea.

Must have been a stray photon from a sun spot hitting my website.
Can't download files now?

Searched for a Reinstall guide without success.
Any other hail mary ideas?

#16 Re: Backlight Support » No Navigation » 2017-03-30 01:54:47

thanks Rod...  with my poke and hope coding i'm never sure.

i'm old school.. let me grab a few punch cards and run the program.

does the slug-colorbages .nav_icon{....
have a universal .slug-Everything .nav{...   version?

#17 Re: Backlight Support » No Navigation » 2017-03-30 00:12:16

Thanks.  I speak for all those who do dumb things.  If the program says Disable Navigation and you check that box.  Then asking "why don't I have navigation on mobile?!" has an easy answer.  Don't check that box!

Can't get that line to work.
Simple CSS below with Rob's code works to change the color of the horizontal bars.
But the button still exists.

Certainly I'm keeping up with my theme of doing dumb things.

Any Ideas?

.page__toggle__label { display: none !important; }

.slug-colorbadges .nav__icon {
  display: none;
}

html,
body,

#18 Re: Backlight Support » No Navigation » 2017-03-28 02:12:59

Not sure what I need to do to truly turn OFF the navigation as the programs indicates it should do.

The standard Mobile Menu Button must be separate code from Backlight menus.  How can that be disabled.

Changing colors, pairing text and check boxes don't seem to address disabling the button.

#19 Re: Backlight Support » No Navigation » 2017-03-26 23:43:08

The color is set with UI style,  button background-color
Remove nav settings does not remove the mobile button to open up the mobile menu, just the menu.

#20 Re: Backlight Support » No Navigation » 2017-03-26 03:27:07

Trying Tray widths now, zero breakpoint, no margins, tray widths zero, disabled masthead, disabled navigation header, disabled navigation trays..
. poke and hope programing?

The Top Left Menu Button stays active when browser is narrow.
click it an it hides everything.

#21 Re: Backlight Support » No Navigation » 2017-03-25 03:00:26

thanks..

left the UI Styling Green to see if the button actually goes away vs white/white

put your css code above the html,  it removes the three horizontal lines, but not the function of the icon.

I keep poking and hoping

#22 Re: PHPlugins » Plug In Guide? » 2017-03-25 02:16:01

yes. looked at the pdf.js   don't know enough coding to unravel the means to get it to work.

#23 Re: Backlight Support » No Navigation » 2017-03-25 01:50:21

Thanks.  You've always been great at helping.  Been a while since I undertook CS4 with your help.

I understand the code.  Just don't know enough to know the right file/line to put that in.

I've tried to setup a page without any navigation.  Turned off, in options and all places I can find.
But when the page is resized to the "mobile" nav displays.

tried some PHPlugin settings.

Love Lightroom/Backlight ease to push new photos to website with one place to modify Meta Data.

top slideshows are from CS4, bottom is Backlight.

Ideas folks?

#25 Re: PHPlugins » Plug In Guide? » 2017-03-23 04:58:34

thanks.. but that is just text in a frame.  Even NPR's site claims to use PYM iframe to link to an external document.
sorry to be so thick headed..

For a PDF.. got this to work on a Page..   kinda.. resizes on a computer. not on mobile.

http://iproof.me/NameBadgePDF/

<style>.embed-container { position: relative; padding-bottom: 100%; height: 0; overflow: hidden; max-width: 100%; } .embed-container iframe, .embed-container object, .embed-container embed { position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; }</style><div class='embed-container'><iframe src='http:/www.iproof.me/images/namebadge.pdf' style='border:0'></iframe></div>
