#1 Re: Backlight Support » Reconnect Publisher » 2019-02-25 08:47:22

Hi,
So I"m now trying to delete my individual galleries and rebuild them.  I have all my photos in collections in Lightroom so it will be fairly easy to put them back up using publisher.  But how do I delete them?  I deleted one gallery using  FTP but it left the place marker for the gallery on the galleries page with the name of the gallery but no photos in it.  So would you know how I can delete the place holder for that galley that  is on the galleries page?
thank you,
Robert

#2 Re: Backlight Support » Reconnect Publisher » 2019-02-24 10:57:13

Hi,
I'm using Backlight, not CE3.   When I did a restore via Time Machine everything went back into Lightroom, except Backlight.  I found the  Backlight publisher plug-in in my documents folder where I left it, and added it again to my LR publisher module.
But I have no collections there, so I made a new one and published it to my website, so I know that link works.
But I have no way of modifying, or deleting or udating my galleries on the server--or do I?
How can I redo all of that is what I'm trying to figure out...
Thanks,
Robert

#3 Re: Backlight Support » Reconnect Publisher » 2019-02-24 10:17:38

Hi,
I'm not sure what "publisher instances" are, but yes I am using the same catalog.  I have all the collections in my library module and even have the TTG CE3 collections in Publisher which I used to do a "select all" and created a new album and published it.  But I ended up with 2 identical galleries on my website. I don't know why TTG Publisher did restore with the application while TTG CE3 did not.
So I need to figure out which way to approach this...
thanks,
Robert

Hi,
My mac OS crashed and I had to restore my system and Lightroom lost the Backlight (1.0) publisher plugin.  I reconnected it and am able to connect with my website, but cannot edit/remove or otherwise edit my galleries. they do not show up in the Library module.
Any ideas on how I may restore it?
thanks.

Hi,

Thanks,
Robert

Hi,
I still can't get rid of the Latin placeholder text on my index page.  I have deleted the text in the Boxes on Designer>Pages> Home Page> Page Copy and also unchecked the "Insert Contact Form" checkbox, but still have the contact form..Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks,
Robert

Hi,
How do I eliminate the #pallet01 and #pallet 02 copy from my Home page.  I only want to use the Main Copy box.

Robert

#9 Re: Backlight Support » Homepage doesn't "Save" and doesn't show up on Website. » 2018-03-04 09:22:01

Hi,
I'm good...I just moved the index from the public ftp folder to the public html folder and it did the trick!
Now on to the actual design...thanks for walking me through this,
Robert

Hi,
Yes all of that stuff is on my server.  I just did it again to make sure.  I called the website support and they reported it all looks good, but they don't understand the file structure of backlight so they were no help there.
But yes all is up and good. At least as far as I can tell.

Hi,
When I "edit Page", and hit the "SAVE" button I get the message "this page was updated successfully".
When I "design page" and enter copy and hit the "SAVE" button nothing happens.
'll email you my guest password,
Thanks

Hi
I can get to my website robertmckinney.com by going to robertmckinney.com/galleries/ so that may be a clue to what is happening. Otherwise I am "clueless"!
Again no luck hitting Save with any of the page designs...
Thanks,
Robert

Hi,
Thanks for the help.  I now have the .htaccess file on my server.  But when I try and create a page, such as home, about or contact and hit the SAVE button I get no response. Any help?
Did I put the hidden file in the wrong place. ?
Thanks,
Robert

#14 Re: Backlight Support » Homepage doesn't "Save" and doesn't show up on Website. » 2018-03-03 11:23:01

Hi,
I thought I saw the index.php files but maybe I have to look for it again and re upload.  Where is the .htaccess file located, I can't seem to find it in any of the folders in the Backlight download.
Thanks,
Robert

Hi,
Just got Backlight up and running. But when I try and save my homepage, nothing happens.  My galleries are on the website, but not the home, about or contact page.
Any ideas?

#16 Re: General » CE3 » 2018-02-15 02:04:26

Hi,
I'm still not able to publish my collections using Lightroom. I checked the Lightroom Plug In manager and my (old) CE3 is up and running.  I get this message: "unable to find publisher" when I try to publish my collections.  I have changed Web hosts and is it possible I need to somehow(?) put my info back into the web server? So how would I do that, like I'm starting over with CE3?
thanks for any help,
Robert

Hi,
Any idea where I can find publisher in order to reinstall?
Thanks,
Robert

#18 Re: General » CE3 » 2018-02-12 10:26:36

Hi,
So as I remember it took me hours  and hours to get CE3 set up.  Is backlight a bit easier?
Thanks,
Robert

#19 Re: General » CE3 » 2018-02-12 10:23:01

Hi,
I get an "unable to find publisher" message when I try to publish my website.  My hosting service says I will need to enter my user name and my password from my web hosting account into the FTP software.  In this case that is in lightroom or in publisher.  So any idea how I can access that with CE3?
Thanks,
Robert

#20 Re: General » CE3 » 2018-02-12 10:02:09

Hi,
I tried getting that from phone support of my hosting service and they seemed to not know what it was.  Maybe I need to try and call them again.
Thanks,
Robert

I'm still using CE3...publisher and lost my website when I changed my internet host. Is there any way I can get publisher to locate my new server or do I need to update to Backlight?

#22 Re: General » Navigation problems » 2014-04-11 07:09:38

Thank you, but if I may, a follow up question:
I noticed on Matthew's website that there are page numbers a each gallery page.  How do you do that?  I couldn't find it in the documentation and when I loaded a large album onto my site I've got like 140 photos on one page and the look is not one that I like.
Thank you,
Robert

#23 Re: General » Navigation problems » 2014-04-11 02:38:53

Thanks, I've got it up and going.  Nice galleries of Angkor, I didn't get enough time there!  One more question (for now!):
How do I delete the test galleries I put on my website?  Via Lightroom or through FTP?
And any idea why I'm getting some pictures "stacked up" on each other in the gallery?  Is it the name I use?
Thank you,
Robert

Hi,
I've got my website up and running, but there seems to be a navigation problem.  I go to the home page and can go to the gallery page and can go to the galley itself, but I can't navigate back using the navigation menu.  Any idea why?
thanks,
Robert
