#2 CE4 Publisher » cannot publish pictures after upgrading » 2015-07-05 06:54:18

Hi,

Actually before I upgraded and just in the past few days I have been getting this error when I attempt to publish an image to my website:
"Canot update this collection
Unable to perform action: getSetupForTemplate
Message: The page sent an action which was not available.

I upgraded just now to the latest publisher 2.3 and upgraded my ttb also to v2.0.3.
Now my new publisher will not authenticate my password. So I updated/changed it inside my publisher admin, saved the settings, but it still will not find it. I get that same message when I try to publish anything AND I get this message when I try to authenticate my publisher within lightroom:
Unable to perform action: checkAuth
Message: The  page sent an action which was not available.

My api URL is set to http://www.kristenwestlake.net/ttg-be/publisher/
Has that changed?

Website is: www.kristenwestlake.net

I have not as of yet attempted to update my gallery or autoindex. I'm not sure if doing so will eliminate this issue?

Thank you for any help!

#4 CE4 Cart » Mobile html version issue with adding to cart » 2015-04-19 23:38:46

Hi,

I've just been going through my Iphone to check functionality of the html gallery for mobile.
All works great except that when I click on the cart icon under the image, the page locks up. I can't scroll down to get to the pricing options. If I click the x on top, next to the verbiage "Add an item to the cart", I am taken out of the cart. At that point if I click the cart icon again, I CAN scroll down to add the item to the cart. .. Unfortunately I doubt many people will figure out to do this.

Is there a way to get the scrolling to work on the first attempt of clicking on the cart icon? .. Perhaps I need to remove the product 'description' and the products will appear higher up on the scroll?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Please test from the safari iphone app or any other mobile .. for example in one of my galleries:

Hi,

I'm reading a lot about creation of landing pages. Are these pages supposed to be on a person's website or on another site with links back? .. if they are intended to be on one's own site, has anyone using the CE4 page template created landing pages within their site?

One would think if a person has carefully implemented SEO on each gallery page, each gallery would act as its own landing page. SEO is so tricky and complex these days. Where it used to be easy to be ranked, today its tough!

Thanks for any input!

#8 Re: CE4 Pages » Mobile search not delivering » 2015-03-20 04:23:04

When I search for the new gallery link (via email notification)  the latest version I have is CE4-Gallery-615.zip.
Looks like 6.16 is in development still.

I just updated publisher.

thank you Rod.

My hard drive crash must have had me go backwards. I will find the updates and redo.

Thank you!

#10 Re: CE4 Pages » Mobile search not delivering » 2015-03-20 03:03:02

Hi all!

I found the old post that Ben made to help me with it http://community.theturninggate.net/pos … /#p26392.. and now its working again.

However, wasn't there a new gallery update that fixed this issue or not yet? I did have a hard drive crash a few weeks ago and I had to reestablish my lightroom gallery from a back up (though the backup was a recent one). I'm trying to ensure I have the most updated templates in LR. How do I see which version they are within my LR Web Galleries? Thank you!

Hi,

I had this issue once before and I seem to recall having fixed it. However, today I clicked a link from my Iphone which is http://kristenwestlake.net/search/?q=20150317 and it comes up with just the blank search box.

Can anyone please instruct me as to how to fix this again? .. not sure what happened.

Thank you!

Hi,

I am offering a special edition pricing each month for a project 365 that I am doing.

By doing this I've added pricing with discounts to the top of my page. Someone can buy 3 prints for the price of 2, etc. The problem is that I have no space for a buyer to tell me which images he / she wants.
Is there a way to add a blank text box for the buyer to write in which images he / she wants, right from the ordering page? I know the special request box exists in the checkout (if not going to paypal or credit card) but most of my sales are not done that way.

Any way to add a text box?

Thank you!

HI Ben,

Oh man oh man do I feel SILLY .. that WAS the old CE3 and in my OLD publisher folder .. rather than going into my ttg-be folder I inadvertently went into the Gallery file inside my old publisher .. guess its time to delete that one!

Yikes, blushing .. sorry for the confusion and thank you for your help!
Its working brilliantly now!

#15 Re: CE4 Publisher » Search not finding anything on mobile devices » 2015-01-29 05:11:11

Hi Ben,

I changed my template_index.php in my Gallery template, which is the one that I use for my Search. However, I am still not having any success with the search on my Iphone or Ipad.

My line however did not read window.location.replace('mobile.php'); }. It read window.location.replace('<?php echo $mobile_url; ?>'); }. I changed that to window.location.replace('mobile.php<?php echo $_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'] ? '?'.$_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'] : ''; ?>'); }

But I still get no search results. I can see the q search term in the address bar but it redirects to mobile.php

Any ideas?
Thank you!

Hi,

I have attempted to find pictures via search on my iPad and the results show nothing.
any ideas?

For example 'cow' or 'Dare' entered in my search at http://kristenwestlake.net/search/mobile.php
Should bring up this http://www.kristenwestlake.net/gallerie … single.php

But it only brings up an empty result page. It's as if the search doesn't happen at all, as there is nothing that says no results.

ahhh, thank you for the fix Ben!

I was just going to start a topic on this very thing and then came across the problem that Mark was having. Same thing for me but with the fix its working!

Thank you!

#19 Re: CE4 Gallery » Quick SEO question about alt attributes » 2015-01-27 05:58:23

Thanks Rod smile

I checked to see if I could see my filename in the source code as an alt tag and wa  la, its awesome!
Also, yes indeed, the images that have captions are alt tagged with the caption. So it seems now those of us that don't wish to use keyword intense captions can do it 'behind the scenes' in our filenames! smile

Very cool ..
and checked an image with a caption

#20 Re: CE4 Gallery » Quick SEO question about alt attributes » 2015-01-27 04:33:30

excellent Rod, thank you.
So if a person had a caption, would that caption be in the image's alt tag instead of the title?
.. and do I need to configure anything into my LR plug in settings in order for the alt tag to take on the title or will it do it automatically as designed?

Thank you!

Hi,

The new update for Gallery works great!

I just have a question about the alt attributes that are designed to improve SEO for images without captions. I often don't want to add too much detail below the images so they are often captionless.

In the wiki it states, "For better SEO, when an image has no caption, it's alt attribute will now be filled by its file name, rather than being left empty."
How does this work?
For example this image : http://www.kristenwestlake.net/gallerie … single.php
There is only a title and no caption. Where would I or how does google read the filename (which is rich in keywords for what the photo is) in leu of a caption?

Thank you!

#23 Re: CE4 Gallery » html single pages not showing up after CE4 Gallery update » 2015-01-25 11:17:09

thank you Rod and Ben ..

I will just keep the new gallery plugin at bay until the fix comes out for the bug. Probably I noticed it when others may not have because I use the html gallery (and thus the single image template) ..

Thanks!

#24 Re: CE4 Gallery » html single pages not showing up after CE4 Gallery update » 2015-01-25 08:11:29

Hi Rod,

Yes, I installed the new publisher as well but not the new TTG BE 2.0.3 as from what I read it was only necessary if I use client response gallery. My old gallery template works so not sure that publisher would be the issue?...
The template that isn't working is currently called Gallery_bad and the only one I have associated with it is the polar plunge gallery who's link you clicked. All others are running under the Gallery template, which is my old one.

hmmm... Do I need to re upload all of my galleries? .. though I did it to one and I still had the same issue.

Thanks Rod wink

Hi,

After I updated my gallery template my single html pages do not show up.
Please click on any thumbnail and see .. http://kristenwestlake.net/clients/csi/ … unge-2015/

I had to change that gallery to a page that no one is looking at right now so that my gallery functions with the old template.

Any ideas of what I might do to remedy this?

Thank you!
