#1 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Wordpress Menu to show in Backlight » 2019-08-16 05:05:12

I have solved most of my problems.

For the record: When you do not implement a wordpress menu, the BL menu is the one shown. Even if the home-page is made with wordpress. I had duplicated the page names of the wordpress pages in BL and put those empty pages in the menu. That worked. However I have now deleted all those pages and did links (eg ../koop/). And that worked.

I have no pages, Two menu choices go to album sets. If a page is created that does not exist in WP and linked in the menu that page is shown..

Works pretty well if you know how.

You are right. It is considered half it's pixel size it seems.

Thanks.

Settings (I guess these are the settings):

Screan breakpoints gofrom 3 to 2 from <= 1024 and to 1 from <=640 Ipad screen is 2048 by 1536. so it should be 3 columns in both directions. I cannot find separate mobile settings.

On my CE4 site I had a masonry layout on my tablet. Also when landscape. Now, with BL2 in the portrait layout I get a masonry of two pictures wide that looks acceptable. But in landscape there are also two images. With a lot of space between them. is there a way to change this? Or is there only one way the pixels are counted regardless of orientation?

#5 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Site Security Question » 2019-07-08 19:41:21

I did all that. However my uploaded (in BL) images, such as header were still http, so I had mixed content that was not displayed.

Loading the images again and it worked fine...

I wanted to rename a top level gallery. Tried to rename in publisher. Did not work. When publishing an error occured. But all my albums had been marked for republish. Could not undo that.  So I changed it back and republished. Tried to make a new publish service and move the albums. Did not work.

What is the proper procedure? Is there documentation ?

#7 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Wordpress menu choice pagename show on page » 2019-06-11 04:45:10

#10 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Gallery on homepage » 2019-06-05 06:25:52

Yes, I could settle for that for now, but have to figure out why mine are to high

#11 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Gallery on homepage » 2019-06-05 04:41:17

I'll have a look. But someting is wrong with some settings, sinx ce it works for you (not fell screen but a slideshow within normal boundaries.

I' ll try that first because I think I kind of like NextGEN

#12 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Gallery on homepage » 2019-06-04 22:43:11

It seems to work, but the galley will not go full screen. Probabely the theme. Also it doe not align at the top, but positions in the middle. Stil no idea how. I disabled the gallery from the thema, When I examine the element it seems to be in some kinf of block...

#13 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Gallery on homepage » 2019-06-04 21:22:56

Thanks again

I thought fancybox should be able to do the trick...

On my old site I had a galleria slideshow on the home page. I'fd like something like that on my new site, but then full screen. I enabled the fancybox, but regardless what I try I'll only get a gallery (with square thumbnails, a horror) and no slideshow. If I click I get sort of a slideshow, but not screen wide. I see plenty of sites with full screen slideshow on the homepage. Not sure if they are WP or not. Best would be masonry and when clicked a full screen slideshow...

Jim

You got an interesting point as to the home pages. Even without a WP menu i'll still get a homepage with 'last posts'. A page that is not there. But it is in WP. I can choose between a static page and postst cannot turn it of.

I also had a quick look at several BL sites as presented on the forum. And most of them have an url and when you choose 'home' a page /home   with the same content. Also Rod's site. Not sure how that is caused.

Guess I have to study a bit further.

#16 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Wordpress Menu to show in Backlight » 2019-06-03 05:32:51

Thanxs

If I have two sets of menu's I will have to maintain them both and make sure the go to mobile on the same size etc. And I have to do the correct linking for both. Wordpress made me choose a page as homepage, so I'll have to work that out. I guess I am going to try Daniels suggestion first.

On my CE4 site the menu was Wordpress driven, only the galleries were CE4. I try to do something similar. I have converted my albums from CE4. Headers et. etc. need some customization, as do templets, but i'll get there. I also installed wordpress.

And the theme worked. However the Wordpress and the Backlight pages have their own menu. I found the issue how to get the BL menu into wordpress, but that is not what I want, because I have no idea how to link wordpress pages to the BL menu.

Copying the menu is also not a good option I guess, because I do not know how to navigate from WP to BL vv...

There used to be some php doing the trick. However I cannot find any documentation about it in BL

My old travel-site was in a subdomain -pictures.theomolenaar.nl- I did not want that to continue and merge it with a new site on my main domain. So I copied the contents to www.theomolenaar.nl/destinations I als copied the ttg-be.

And I ran the conversion. An error appeared.

The destination folder works like on the subdomain (menu's and other pages were managed via  wordpress). The menu choices go to the wrong files (in the main instead of the subdomain). However the root leads to an error message

Something went wrong. If I work from inside Backlight

SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1 no such column: pr.template in PdoExtended.php on line 524

If I approach the root from outside BL

Something went wrong

Unexpected error: Undefined index: template in PageController.php on line 118

Please report error at http://community.theturninggate.net

Choosing fot publisher in the Menu leads to repetition of the error from the conversion. Reinstalling publisher does not help.

I was trying to make an album set called fotografie on my top level. So I made a album set. But this was published under the level fotografie on my site. I tried to change the location but LR refused. Deleted with FTP, Started again, made another mistake, tested some things etc.

In Backlight I now have a list of non existing album sets I can choose from when I edit the page. I cannot reset the list. And get every template I ever made. Like to start again

I do not want margins or padding other then minimal. In the  page source I can see that the height seems to be limited to 500
