yes, i was re-installing all and it didn't pick up the different modules, so i went in and reinstalled each separately. now the photos are showing up but the landing page format is a list of options and not formatted properly. I wonder how the original landing page got lost.

check out the formatting... no bullets with pull down menus.. just a list ... pkemp.com

OK, went back and cleaned up the backlight directory, reinstalled backlight 2 and followed the update instructions. i still get an error when i try to access the site....

Something went wrong
Unable to find module with id standard-page. Make sure this module is installed under backlight/modules/. in EngineFactory.php on line 95

any thoughts?

i followed the steps on

http://backlight.theturninggate.net/doc … tion_setup

but i have not gone through the rest of the 'getting started with backlight 2'... is that where one is told about the directories to be deleted? and the update albums, which i did find. the landing page and all the photo page formats are not correct. where do i go to update those?

thanks for your help, but i feel like I'm missing a whole lot of documentation on how to upgrade to backlight 2 from previous versions.... are there special links for this?

Thanks again for your help.

that sort of helped with my landing page. the format is all wrong. in addition when i try to display other pages, I get this error..

Call to undefined method CartHelper::isDevelopment()|#0 /var/www/backlight/publisher/application/init.php(8): GenericApplicationHelper->getLocaliser(Object(ApplicationConfigManager)) #1 /var/www/backlight/framework/init.php(144): require_once('/var/www/backli...') #2 /var/www/Europe-2017/europe-2017/001-budapest/lib.php(56): require_once('/var/www/backli...') #3 /var/www/Europe-2017/europe-2017/001-budapest/index.php(8): require_once('/var/www/Europe...') #4 {main}|URL: /Europe-2017/europe-2017/001-budapest/index.php

what has happenned? are there update issues??

so i chowned my /var/www directory. then reinstalled backlight 2 as root. voila things appeared to be working..   BUT .. I didn't get a quick settings page and it  now looks like there is an issue with my web pages. pkemp.com is the website URL... can you take a look and see what is going on..

I have some legacy folders in my main folder directory as well as a 'secret' directory on my site.

is there anyway to create an index of these folders and link them to submenus on my web site?

thanks in advance.

I'm moving my website to a different host and going through the reinstall process. is there a step by step walkthrough to fix this error?

Unable to find the SQLite module. Backlight requires the PDO, SQLite and XML modules. Make sure that these modules are installed and enabled.

sqlite is installed. is it php that needs the modules or apache2?

for each case what is the procedure to verify installation and include the modules where needed.

thanks for any help you can offer...

I know I should know this, but I seem to have forgotten how to install the XML modules that backlight needs to run.

I get the following error when I try to run backlight on my new development web site. for the life of me i can't seem to find the magic that i used in my production website to install the correct prerequisites...

"Unable to find the XML module. Backlight requires the PDO, SQLite and XML modules. Make sure that these modules are installed and enabled."

thanks in advance..

PS, I'm on ubuntu on a 4.4.38 kernel with apache2....

#19 Re: Backlight Support » getting error creating collection » 2017-12-15 15:34:52

I found out what it was.

i had batch dumped photos from an iphone. i thought i had removed all the mp4 files but i missed some.

once i removed them from the collection the publish operation completed.

sorry for the false alarm....

thanks Rod for getting back to me so quickly..

#20 Re: Backlight Support » getting error creating collection » 2017-12-15 15:22:28

All images are available. I can view them all in lightroom. I also just paged through them in windows photo viewer.....

i deleted a few files from the second try so that i could see if there was a particular image that was causing an issue and it didn't stop at the same image...

could there be a problem with the code limiting the number of photos that can be handled?

Thanks

I am trying to build a page with about 150 photos on it.

the build begins just fine, the web page is created and some number of photos are moved to the server and then I get what is assume is a lightroom error that says..

"Warning

Can't update this collection.

the rendition could not be created. please ensure that
the original file name is accessible, especially when stored on external or network storage."

has anyone ever seen this message and knows what it means?

i have the number of photos set to 200, and have tried deleting and then re-creating the pages under a different name.

Any help is most appreciated.

Thanks

#23 Re: Backlight Support » error on upgrading to Rel3.... » 2017-09-27 22:40:20

Ben, I have not changed the permissions on the data directory.

However after much manual install and upgrade steps I finally have the backlight login back. I however still cannot my website to load.

Could you take a look at what I have done and let me know what to do to fix...

Thanks
Phil

#24 Re: Backlight Support » error on upgrading to Rel3.... » 2017-09-27 22:36:33

Ben, I have not changed the permissions on the data directory.

After much re-installing and updating and uploading extra bits and pieces I have the backlight login back.

However, I am getting nothing on accessing the web site, pkemp.com.

I wonder if you could look around and make sense of what state I have things in.....

Thanks
Phil

I followed the instructions to upgrade tp Rel3 and had some permission problems on my server due to samba wierdness. I have since re downloaded the update files via ftp (.htaccess, iinex.php, backlight, galleries) with no permission issues.

I stilll get the following when I try to login to backlight or access my server, pkemp.com.

session_start(): open(../../backlight/framework/../data/sessions/sess_k022sqvk1a8enaio6c8gbadfq1, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13)|#0 [internal function]: ErrorHandler::handleError(2, 'session_start()...', '/var/www/backli...', 74, Array) #1 /var/www/backlight/framework/helpers/AuthHelper.php(74): session_start() #2 /var/www/backlight/framework/init.php(123): AuthHelper::handleSession() #3 /var/www/backlight/admin/index.php(24): require_once('/var/www/backli...') #4 {main}|URL: /backlight/admin/index.phpUnknown: open(../../backlight/framework/../data/sessions/sess_k022sqvk1a8enaio6c8gbadfq1, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2)|Unknown|0

Clearly something is wrong in the way I installed the upgrade.

Can anyone shine a light on what I have broken?

Thanks in advance....
Phil
